Vector Software Partners with Programming Research
Adds Coding Standards Enforcement to VectorCAST
BOSTON /Vector Release/ -- Vector Software, a leading provider of software test tools for embedded systems, today announced the integration of their VectorCAST test tool with Programming Research’s QA·C and QA·C++ static analyzers.
Programming Research pioneered the use of static analysis technology to automatically enforce coding standards. Established in 1986, they are recognized as “the coding standard experts” by leading software developers, industry experts, and standards organizations worldwide. PRQA’s static analyzers, QA·C and QA·C++, power their compliance modules to automatically enforce both custom coding standards and industry standards, including MISRA-C:1998, MISRA-C:2004, and JSF++.
In making the announcement for Vector Software, Bill McCaffrey, Director of Marketing, stated: “We are extremely pleased to add QA·C and QA·C++ to our offering. Recently, many of our customers have been stipulating coding standards that their programmers need to conform to. The scope of these standards depends on project-wide requirements concerning how a language should be used and/or restricted.”
According to McCaffrey, using VectorCAST in conjunction with QA·C and QA·C++ allows developers to quickly isolate dangerous constructs and potential catastrophic defects as they occur. “VectorCAST for unit/integration testing and code coverage,” McCaffrey added, “coupled with the QA·C and QA·C++ tools, provides customers with state-of-the-art and best-of-breed automated testing solutions.”
